Unit Summary

Students will be exposed to Korean culture by watching videos and learning Korean Dance Basic Steps.

Students will have several discussions on their thoughts and feelings during this unit.

Students will learn the concept of Time (Speed), and Effort (Flow).

They will improvise based on the discussion.

They will choreograph their own dance by manipulating Korean Dance Basic Steps, and later they will add layers using different dance elements.

Students will read Korean Folk Tale and discuss the character’s feeling, movement and the interesting part of the story.

Students will learn Locomotor, Non-Locomotor movement and pathway to incorporate to their own choreography.

Students will work on their choreography using choreography chart.
-
They will work with partners to provide feedback on their dance.
-
At the end of the unit, students will perform in front of the classmates.
